Worst: Tell Me Why, sometimes over sickly.[/quote]

Agreed, can be sickly or 'Happy Just To Dance with You' maybe.

I think A HArd Days Night is THE epitomy of contemporary pop music even though it was recorded over 30 years ago. I think it embodies the Beatles at the height of thier fab four period before they moved on to more explorative styles. Dam those boys knew how to write a catchy 2min 30 sec pop tune that you can hum for ever - this album is so.... umm... alive??

Anywayz, a word on a couple of the tracks - When I Get Home is seriously underrated, a right screamer with great harmonies and an unorthodox chord change for the Whoa Whoa AHHHHHHHHH bit (A major in the key of C anyone?)

I also think I'll Cry Instead also is one o the first songs apart from I Call Your Name where John showed a little bit of himself he would fully explore in the folowing years. Introspective lyrics ('I got a chip on my shoulder...I cant talk to people that I meet... etc...)

Things we said to day is very sophisticated with some nice changes for the middle in there, as is And I Love Her with its different almost moody instrumentation and the key change for the guitar solo.

Great album!

Every stinking song on this album is great! This is my second favorite album, number one being Please Please Me.
My favorite: So hard to chose because there are so many great songs on this album, but I guess I will go with...And I love Her.
Least favorite: And this doesn't in anyway mean I don't like this song...Tell Me Why.

This is one of their best albums in my eyes. The movie was their best also! 8)

Tough, actually...

Best- "A Hard Day's Night." Best single since "She Loves You."

Worst- "I'll Cry Instead."

i have to agree w/ a previous poster in mentioning "when i get home"- certainly one of the most underappreciated songs in the beatles canon- great beat, some of the best power-vocal-harmonizing in rock history, unusual chord-changes and suggestively sexy lyrics.  that this little jem can get lost just illustrates what a revolutionary title wave was rolling over the music world.

Not a lot to say,
Then we will remember things we said today."
