Each of the Beatles' best songs
« on: September 24, 2004, 08:04:20 PM »

OK, I'll even have to think of this one myself, but I think it would be nice to pick 5 songs for each Beatles that really show the best of each other them (5 Paul songs, 5 John songs, etc.), and then 5 songs that show the Beatles working as a team or sounding the best harmonically together after that.

I think it's a good thread to pick out what songs are the very best for each one of them, and I'd love to hear what everyone feels is the best performance for each Beatle.

Paulie:
'Here,There and Everywhere'
'She's Leaving Home'
'Yesterday'
'You Never Give Me Your Money'
'Two Of Us'

John:
'Ticket To Ride'
'Yes It Is'
'In My Life'
'A Day In The Life'
'A Hard Day's Night'

George:
'Something'
'Here Comes The Sun'
'Long,Long,Long'
'If I Needed Someone'
'For You Blue'

Ringo:
'Octopus's Garden'
'Good Night'
'With a Little Help From My Friends'
'Yellow Submarine'
'Don't Pass Me By'

For 'sounding the best harmonically together' : 'Because' and 'This Boy' because they're sung by 3 of them.

For 'woking as a team' : definetly Something - George writes the song, he sings it great, the guitar solo is amazing; Paul plays one of his greatest bass performances ever; Ringo does a great opening for the song and John's piano and guitar are fine, too.

Talking about choosing, it is really a tough decision to make. In fact, I have been looking at the list over and over again, but still I can’t find songs from each of them to be listed as the best 5. I personally think that all their songs are nice. If I really need to choose, I would choose Yesterday from Paul, In My Life for John’s, Something for George, and Yellow Submarine for Ringo.
