Mine's just a bit different from Klang's:

1. Strawberry Fields
2. I am the Walrus
3. Baby You're a Rich Man

Depends -

The American LP -

1. Strawberry Fields Forever
2. Penny Lane
3. I Am The Walrus

UK soundtrack, sans '67 singles -

1. I Am The Walrus
2. The Fool On The Hill
3. Magical Mystery Tour

I'd agree with this one, apart from I'd have Walrus above Penny Lane in the first set of three.

I have been reading the Geoff Emerick book and have just got through the MMT section - sounded like a very strange time for the band, with Brian's death and Paul assuming control by pushing ahead with his film idea. Walrus was the first song they recorded after Brian's death - Emerick says that you can hear in their playing that their hearts aren't in it. Apparently Ringo - unusually for him - wasn't keeping the timing very well so Paul stopped playing bass on the backing track and just stood in front of Ringo with a tambourine to help him keep a regular beat going. And John insisted on playing the keyboard part even though he kept making mistakes with it. Must have been a very stressful session for everyone, I suppose. A great song that came out of it, though.

Yes, I remember reading that part of Geoff Emerick's book; sounds like it was a pretty melancholic recording session.   :(

In no particular  order:

I Am The Walrus

Strawberry Fields Forever

The Fool On The Hill

I think MMT is a terrific album in every sense of the word.  I never liked "Blue Jay Way" and yet ... it has a very cosmic vibe that has grown on me.

Even though I don't listen to it every time I have come to respect Blue Jay Way and how George crafted it. It really seems like your waiting all night for the song to end like he was waiting for Derek Taylor to arrive at the house he was renting.
I also like Baby Your a Rich Man.
I Am the Walrus is on top I think.
