Backbeat: The Birth Of The Beatles
Hardcore Beatles fans will find lots to enjoy in this moody, slow-moving story about the forming of the Fab Four. Others, though, might not be so enthusiastic. I fall somewhere in between. It’s the early 1960s, and young Liverpudlian rockers John Lennon (Andrew Knott), Paul McCartney (Daniel Healy), George Harrison (Daniel Westwick), Pete Best (Oliver Bennett) and painter-turned-mediocre-bass-player Stuart Sutcliffe (Nick Blood) get a gig in Hamburg playing eight hours a night in a seedy club.

Europe Travel: Remembering The Beatles’ Hard Day’s Nights in Hamburg
HAMBURG—They’re just steel silhouettes, but instantly recognizable, an iconic lineup of four figures striking familiar poses with their instruments. Revelers passing through this busy intersection on Hamburg’s so-called “Sinful Mile” gravitate toward them, posing for photographs alongside the Fab Four: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and a drummer that represents both Ringo Starr and original percussionist Pete Best.
