i have a Question are the Lennon/McCartney the original Writers of Twist and Shout or was it the Isley Brothers

Bert Berns [under the name Bert Russell ] and Phil Medley wrote the song. The Isley Brothers brought it out first.

Actually the Isley Brothers brought it out 2nd - the original version was by The Top Notes produced by Phil Spector! It is an absolutely awful version! Bert Berns took the song back from Spector and turned it into the classic track we know and love today. The Beatles' version was based on the Isley's version though.

i think the beatles version is the best version ever!(apart from my bands version of course)...my dad still thinks lennon/mccartney wrote it.
