I love John Hughes films too! I love Pretty in Pink. Andrew McCarthhy :) !

I don't know which character I'd relate to the most. I'll have to give that some thought.

Any of you seen the movie, "Juno"???  About the teen girl who gets pregnant by her "best guy friend" and decides to give it up of adoption???  Serious, but oh so cute of a movie!!!  The dialogue is fantastic in it.  No wonder it won best original screenplay at the Oscars this year.  I recommend this movie.

My favourite angst film by John Hughes is Some Kind of Wonderful. It's like a gender-reversed version of Pretty in Pink, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

I re-watched West Side Story last night and was so impressed by it. Many people don't realize how much it changed musical theatre. Although it always annoyed me that they dubbed Natalie Wood's singing.

Yeah, but I'm glad she was in it. She's one of those unique actresses that only could have existed in that specific time period. I love her. She did a great job too, I think. I don't mind when they dub in voices because I'd rather have that Broadway sound. But usually the Broadway actors don't translate well on the movie screen. They tend to over project or exaggerate when acting. Like in Mama Mia, I loved Meryl Streep in the part, but even though she can sing, I'd have much preferred it if they dubbed her voice. Her style of singing didn't fit the feel of the songs.

Oh yeah, and while I also prefer Some Kind of Wonderful, Pretty in Pink is THE definitive wrong side of the tracks movie. It's a classic. The music, Molly Ringwald, Ducky. I just wonder what people fifty years from now will think of the clothes!

Really? I loved Meryl Streep's singing in Postcards From The Edge. Then again, her style is more rough than ABBA. I can't wait to see Mamma Mia!

I went to see Dark Knight on friday. It was a good action film. Heath Leadger indeed did a great joker [but then i suppose johhny depp would have made a good joker too]. And man, i loved Gary Oldman! excellent charcter! there was hardly any batman in it actually... it was mainly Gary Oldman, Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart or whatever his name is.
I would have enjoyed it more, if it had a message... but then it is an action movie...

I`ve seen the latest movie about the mummy (don`t know its English name). The film is bad, not interesting at all, much worse than the first two about mummies.

Watched ED WOOD again today .
Great film , Johnny Depp is superb in this film and a Oscar worthy performance by Martin Landau as Bela Lugosi  8)

I watched the movie Marty on Demand recently. I had never seen it. What a great movie! Reminded me somewhat of my family. But not as extreme!

OK, I'll admit it: I absolutely love bad horror movies. When it comes to horror, I have an almost unlimited tolerance for bad acting, plot holes and clichees. And believe me, few movies I've ever seen had more of all that than "Lake Dead". It was just hilarious how bad the script and the actors (besides the villains, they were OK) were. But what made this so enjoyable was how blatantly they tried to distract the viewer from noticing that. They just threw in some gorgeous women (with no acting skills whatsoever) and an awful lot of attempts at shocking the viewer. Sometimes cheap (sex scenes), sometimes annoying (an Amy Winehouse type of character who uses the f-word in every fu... eh, single sentence), sometimes just disturbing (a guy French kissing his mother before he attempts to go rape his niece) and sometimes actually really shocking (one of the most disgusting torture/murder scene I've ever seen). So unless you also have a thing for bad horror movies, don't let the beautiful, mysterious looking DVD cover fool you and stay away from this as far as possible.

Was watching The Great Escape last night but fell asleep. Now I want to rent it cuz it was pretty cool. Steve McQueen RULES! I love him. They don't make actors like that anymore do they?

Wonder what he did?

Mamma Mia was sold out. Had to see Space Chimps. Almost choked on own bile. Wept for humanity.

i watched the girl next door yesterday. a movie i can not recommend. i cried for a while after the movie was finished. the worst part is that its based on a true story. of sylvia. while i was researching i saw this sentence id like to share: Her favorite rock group was, unsurprisingly in that era, The Beatles. its just really weird knowing that we have something in common.
