My theory is that THE GOVERNMENT HIRED Chapman to kill John... I think it is possible.

Theres a whole book on it as it goes. Not sayin I believe it, but still.....

The book is by Fenton Bresler I think. It goes into the FBI connection, deportation/political issues and Chapmans movements in supposed 'training camps' around the world. I did read it a long time ago. The theory is that Chapman was 'programmed' to do it.

After Paul faked his own death, and William Campbell took over, Paul retreated to his city lair in St John's Wood.

There he stayed brooding about the love of his life: Yoko. In 1973, he got up enough courage to press his suit, and he and Yoko fell in love. John did not know about this affair, so was a sitting duck for a "reconciliation", and the start of the plot on his life. Paul pulled the trigger that night, but Chapman had been handsomely paid off to take the rap.

Paul now lives as a recluse in the Dakota with Yoko. For those of us in the know, he has been writing classic songs for over 30 years now, and the world cannot hear them. His hell is that William Campbell continues to pump out rubbish in the Macca name. But his love for Yoko is strong, and he will not blow the whistle.

Any objective evidience? Not a whit, but does that matter?

Is it mere coincidence that Sir Macca has a place in CAMPBELLsport, Scotland?  Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, I think not! AND is it mere coincidence that he is now living in the Dakota, an edifice that was built in 1882, which is the title of an unreleased Macca song and EXACTLY 100 years before Sir William started releasing Lame-o records? I think not again (there's alot of that going 'round)!!

I've read that book too - it is an interesting read, and puts up a very convincing argument.

I don't like Yoko at all (not personally of course, just as a personality in the media, I don't actually know her I suppose) but even I don't believe that for one second.

yoko could have threatened witnesses with a knife, and chapman happened 2 be one of them.

Heres a theory......

On the Abbey Rd cover, Paul McCartney is the only one leading with his right foot while the others are in unison leading with their left. This was instigated by John who wanted to make a mockery of Paul's attempt to be 'different' by walking bare foot. Lennon, many years later, confided this to Harry Nillson.
