As the Love Song Battle closes to an end, the LP Side 1 begins. What is the best song on LP Side 1.
-
Here Comes the Sun

That would've been my favorite too if it would've been on side 1... :)

Something.

@#$%, your right again. I've been living in the CD world for too long. I broke out the vinyl and sure enough, its on side two. Foiled again.

Something.

Am I the only person who digs I Want You (She's So Heavy) then? :(
-
The one after....I Want You (She's So Heavy) ;)
JWL

the whole <road> is great, but TE (would ET also be possible?) did the best choice, as long long long as i'm concerned:
i want you (she's so heavy!)
-
Something, with Oh! Darling on it's heels.
-
I voted I Want You (She's so Heavy) the cut off is so awesome but only on the record it doesn't add much on the cd.
-
Come Together
-
something
-
you know what always freaked me out...at the end of i want you(she's so heavy) you've got clapton wailing away and the music sounds like a storm and then it suddenly stops....and then you turn the album over...and its Here Comes the Sun...and its just like there's a sun coming out of a storm...its AMAZING.
-
I definitely have to go with Something.

I don't think Clapton played on I Want You - All guitars were played by Beatles. :)
-
i'm fairly sure he did.

Hi Lonelypeople :)
I did check up on this last night before I posted my reply, and Mark Lewisohn's Beatles' Chronicles book makes no reference to Clapton playing on the track.
Anyone else have any views on this? :)
-
he did not............he played on nothing on abbey road...i vote 4 something.
-
hmmm...i'll trust you on that then...i'm misinformed....sorry for posting incorrect information...but the greatness still stands of that moment...those two songs and how they go with each other is incredible.
-
Come together
-
I think of Abbey Road as one complete album, so it's definitely a tough choice....but I'd go with Something slightly edging out Come Together and Oh Darling.
-
Something is just a wee...overrated...*picture of me flying a blimp* *board users take out a big bazooka and blows up my blimp*
*I get out of ash*
*stumbles around*
....ugh...ow....I voted for Oh! Darling....
-
strawberry has an ashey looking co-pilot here...."oh darling", never thought of something as too special, just a matter of opinion, i suppose

I guess I just love the silly!
I wish I could have taught it to my students but these days I would get so much sh** for it due to its violent content. (Damn you political correctness!) So I taught them Octopus' Garden instead...much safer!
