Song vs. Same name song
« on: March 20, 2011, 05:38:45 PM »

This game is like the Song vs. Song one, but this time you have to choose between two songs with the same name by two different artists. If you can, put a video for each song.

I'll start with this: "Bluebird" (Buffalo Springfield) vs. "Bluebird" (Paul McCartney)

Buffalo Springfield - Bluebird

Paul McCartney & Wings Bluebird (2010 Remastered).

Too hard to choose; I love both songs!

David Bowie - Let's Dance

Sorry I couldn't find one without an ad. Do his pupils look weird in this?  ???

I prefer the Chris Montez song, not a fan of David Bowie here.

"Run Run Run" (The Who) vs. "Run Run Run" (Velvet Underground)

Run Run Run - The Who

The Velvet Underground- Run Run Run

No contest here for me, even with Paul's tooth issue.  ;D

Here's one that goes back even further...

Benny Goodman and His Orchestra - "Let's Dance" (10" 78 rpm record)

David Bowie sustained an injury to his left eye in a fight at age 15.  Although he underwent surgery to repair the damage, his left pupil remains permanently dilated (mydriasis).

Thanks for the participation, but most people didn't remember to choose between one of the two songs.

America - I Need You
The Beatles- I Need You

Several songs have that name really, apart from those two I remember "I Need You" by the Who (a Keith Moon's song!) and "I Need You" by the Kinks.

I choose the Beatles song, though it may be one of the worse Paul's songs with the Beatles.

Though not a different song, The Great Society's 1965 live version of Somebody To Love remains my favorite...

Great Society & Grace Slick

Way better than Jefferson Airplane!

I still prefer the acid rocker take by Jefferson Airplane, but that original version is interesting.

Technically, the song was called Someone To Love when The Great Society recorded it in 1965...

The Great Society Someone to Love

The name was changed to Somebody To Love by the time they performed at recorded it live at The Matrix in 1966...
