Beatle Gear
« on: November 01, 2005, 08:30:14 PM »

Just recently bought this book, which I have to say is fantastic.
The detail about when, where, how much they cost etc etc on each of the Beatles Instruments is fantastic, as well as some basic/rare Beatle facts/tales which pepper any book.
I'd really advise it, as it's a great extra to have in the collection.
Just reading and looking at those instruments makes me want to get up & play.

P.S. This one went for both: Indica (early instruments) and pc31 (early years)

This is what I saw when I opened this link. Maybe it's because I can't understand Portuguese?

The book you're referring to is called "Beatles Gear" and is by Andy Babiuk. It is essential reading for any fanatical fan!

^Ha Ha, now I understand. A big problem, indeed. Even so the most interesting thing in this website are the photos and some information about songs (not a lot and I'm sure that, in your case, nothing new). Don't worry, not a big loss. How about spaniard sites?  :)

I have this book and cant praise it enough. A must in your collection.

Anyway..

I own the 1st edition but saw on Amazon.co.uk that a 2nd Revised edition is out (long time ago actually) and in paperback. I was wondering, how is it improved? Any of you know?  ::)

Does the reviews on Amazon mention anything? If a 3rd edition is out so quick after the 2nd, the 2nd was either full of errors or sold really well.

Just a few recent reviews on Amazon which don't say much.  Amazon's description is unchanged.

As it's a new edition, there must have been some revisions.  I'm satisfied with the copy I bought about seven years ago.

I just found out that Andy Babiuk is going to be giving a presentation at the library where I used to work. It's going to be in conjunction with their "It Was 50 Years Ago Today" exhibit of memorabilia, most of it owned by a member of the library board. I knew they were having some speakers in but I didn't realize such an important expert was among them. I'm really looking forward to this!
