I have  BOOT called AS NATURE INTENDED. It contains the original Glynn Johns mix of the GET BACK album as well as the complete rooftop experience. The roof was as expected. John did flub a line on Don't Let Me Down so they redid it. I didn't know why they had to do Get Back 3x.  One After 909, Dig A Pony, I've Got A Feeling. George made a comment that he didn't want to do any of his songs because he thought they'd just sound s*&^y.  I still wonder what songs ? I, Me, Mine was recorded well after Abbey Road. For You Blue would not have translated well live. What other songs were there at the time ? All Things Must Pass was being worked on. If So, where's the recorded version ? I've heard some rough rehearsals but nothing complete.

I agree with that in the fact that John agreed to take care of the album while Paul took care of the film. John brought in Phil Spector and John added his saccastic comments between songs.
In all fairness to Paul, it was his idea to GET BACK by playing a live concert. The film was intended to show the rehearsals of the new songs and then end with a concert. I think it would have been great. Sadly, nobody but Paul seemed to be interested and it showed. John was in the midst of heroin addiction and having Yoko by his side constantly didn't help. George had a bad attitude from the start and was just looking for an excuse to quit. Ringo was working on a film I understand at the time, so his heart wasn't in it. They were under contract to deliver an album and a movie. It was everything Paul could do to keep everyone interested. People want to blame Paul for dominating, but who else was contributing. The good originals on that album were Paul because nobody else was delivering. John had DIG A PONY and DON'T LET ME DOWN. ONE AFTER 909 was an old one. ACROSS THE UNIVERSE was added later. George's I, ME , MINE wasn't recorded during the sessions and FOR YOU BLUE was  lazy 12 bar blues. ALL THINGS MUST PASS would have been good but never saw the light of day because George wanted it to sound like The Band and it wasn't working. He of course blames Paul for not helping enough to develop his songs when he would help Paul on his.
Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that Paul gets the brunt of some bad history. He was the only one that cared enough about The Beatles to keep them together.

my god, a true critical analysis.  You're right of course Flux. but I still hate it when Paul does his gooey eyed thing at the camera

Paul did do his 'big eyes' alot. It was worse on Hey Jude when the boys performed on David Frost's show. John called the beard  'the Jesus phase.'  Hey, cut him some slack- he wasn't married, he was the 'cute Beatle' and was better at hamming it up.
I wonder if he ever outgrew that ?

Hey, I think Mccartneys Performing style is amazing.
He is one cool man.
I think his performance of the Long & Winding Road, with the Bluthner...really helps bring out what the song is about. I hope this doesn't sound over the top, but he is a real performer. :)
