Thanks An Apple Beatle!
I was able to get some video too, sorry the pics are blurry but my camera was not that great.
I had seen Paul when he was with Wings and I was so young, I was so nervous that I got so ill at the concert. (so embarrasing)
that was about 15 years ago! But this time around with Ringo it was such a treat!
Anyhow the show was amazing definetely a highlight in my life!

Hi Mandybuglet
its called David Lynch Foundation because that was the name of the concert.  It was a fundraiser concert to introduce Transcendental Meditation to children in school.
TM has been scientifically proven to help with stress as well as to allows one to enter a natural state of alertness and restfulness.
TM is something that the Beatles were introduced to by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1967 and George Harrison was one of his most devote followers.
The Beatles attended a training course in India with the Maharishi and this is where the White Album was conceived.
The concert was incredible because a lot of the songs and artists devoted their songs to the memory of John and George. IT was very sentimental.
I hope this answers your questions :)

I think I'm right in saying you only insert the part of the URL that comes after the = sign.

I'm dredging up this very old thread rather than starting a new one that may very well go nowhere.  ;)

i heard, from an interview with George and Kathy Lutz, they of the dubious Amityville Horror notoriety, that they believe their horrific experiences in that house were caused by demons summoned (I'm not sure summoned is the proper word here) by their use of TM. Kathy Lutz specifically mentioned that they had tried TM because the Beatles had. That piqued my curiousity a little, but I didn't give it much thought.

Fast forward 10 years, and I've heard locally that many people, including some friends (one in particular who tried TM herself), do indeed believe that TM is a way of opening oneself up to demons and that the mantra one is given is in fact that name of "your" demon. Hm.

I did a quick Google search on this and found a bunch of hysterical sites run by evangelical groups, and their claims seemed overhyped and not credible to me.

I do know, however, that many U.S. parents have argued against yoga being taught in school PE classes just for this reason.

Just thought I'd throw this out there . . .

Wow. Never heard TM being blamed for attracting demons. And if the Lutzs are the only evidence I’d say it lacks a solid empirical basis.

Sounds a bit like one set of religious people slagging off the practices of another. To be fair I suppose to our culture in the 60s and 70s, the idea of sitting for long periods chanting a weird word over and over could be seen as a bit disturbing.
