Yellow Submarine Returns To Big Screen For One-Day Cinema Event (http://www.thebeatles.com/news/yellow-submarine-returns-big-screen-one-day-cinema-event)
UK and Ireland only, at least for now.

Yellow Submarine played an important role in my growing up. The film had just opened in New York City theaters when I asked a girl out and took her to see the film on our first date. I really liked her but I was too shy to ask her out a second time. Something made me call her five years later and ask her out again. I took her out to see Yellow Submarine which was playing again for a limited time in theaters. A few months later we became engaged.

I think you should go see it in the U.K., Barry.

You know, Kelley, I was fortunate to see A Hard Day's Night, Help! and Yellow Submarine when they were first-run movies. The ambience in the theaters each of those times and the era in which they were shown can never be duplicated. These days, I'm happy to watch the films on DVD and remember those times fondly.

It's all in the mind, you know.

I heard at every showing you'll receive a 50th Anniversary Goodie Bag
-
I keep checking to see if the US dates and locations have been announced yet. I'm hoping it comes to the theater where I saw Eight Days a Week and Concert for George.

This time I only have to travel 80 miles!

Looking forward seeing it on Sunday, after that I just need to see Help! On the big screen.

Enjoyed seeing The 50th Anniversary screening of Yellow Submarine. We all were given a Goodie envelope with cards & stickers, at the end of the film everyone applauded.

THere's nothing like seeing Yellow Submarine on the big screen!
-
Beyond the showings on the 9th are there plans to show more, in any kind of distribution? Even if in art theaters and not a wide distribution, I am not seeing it anywhere.
Was it a one and done?
-
It's also on the little screen now on Amazon Prime.

Cool, George! I was planning to see it in a theater but forgot that it was the same day as our town’s Heritage Day and I had to work. It was supposed to be my birthday present, too. And I don’t particularly care for Heritage Day anymore!

You're probably better off, Kelley. Newer and bluer Meanies have been sighted in the vicinity of that theater.

Hi folks! I'm new in this forum and came across this thread by chance.
A couple of weeks ago in june I won a gearbuilder contest. My personal opinion is, that I might have not produced the best handcraft of all competitors but apparently I had the best idea... ;D

Of course it is! :) Although I didn't really make it with the intention to play it regularly. I own a couple of guitars and basses that do the job better. I thought perhaps it could be something for a Beatles cover band or somewhere as a wall hanger. But I also made a little video in order to show that (and how) it plays... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl4DV3Pz9HY# (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl4DV3Pz9HY#)

definitely a great conversation piece, even if it never were played. very cool

Catchy tune, that. I can’t seem to get it out of my head. :)
John, Faul, George and Ringo did that bit to leave another clue for us all...

That's always been one of my favorites. And now it's bumped out the song that's been playing in my head all day today:
