I really like Help! too, especially Help!, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away and Ticket to Ride

Rain is a great song...

when the backward vocals start it sounds like john is saying:it's better than a memory, deal with it... it's at 2:37 in the song...

he's the only one who can say something backwards and it sounds like acutual words...

same with free as a bird... at the end it sounds like he says john lennon...

spooky.....

Sounds like what it is to me - a vocal track played backwards. Though it is fun guessing what he could be saying.
Just because I'm bored - you say John is the only person who can record backwards and sound like he's saying something. Who else have you heard backwards that DIDN'T sound like they were making words?
I love the song by the way, may be my favourite Beatle track.

wow kevin... being harsh?

and i wasn't trying to guess what he was saying before they played it backwards... the actual backwards vocals sound like real sentences...

and i'm sure i'm not the only one who realizes this

Play any song backwards and I guarantee you'll be able to make out a lot of phrases or sentences. It just happens.

Yeah sorry - was a bit. Didn't mean to be.
It wasn't so much that it can't sound like something backwards, just that I don't think John is the only person who could do it.
I need to calm down.

OK, at a loose end so I took that section of the song and flipped it on the computer, and guess what? Lennon is singing: If the rain comes, They run and hide their heads.

Far out man ::) They really planned all that backwards stuff, didn't they ;)

I'm sorry, but I think it needs some more time to work on. Try to put some more passion in your voice.

Yeah, they did!  John sang the reverse lyrics in Anthology.
