I swear at some place or another,Paul's been credited with everything The Beatles ever did. He played drums, bass, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and sang all the lead vocals and harmonies and he wrote, sang, and recorded all the songs the group ever released-at least it's been stated somewhere that he did. I guess John,George, and Ringo weren't real musicians-they were like The Monkees-they knew just enough to get buy in public-Paul took care of everything in the studio. They just sat at home and ate fish and chips.

It's nothing against you,Jake. But just about any time someone says one of the other Beatles did a great job drumming,on guitar, writing a song, anything at all-somebody claims Paul did it. Heck,Paul's claimed credit for most of it himself.

Might be good reasons for it though.

Hey,maybe Paul did play every good piece of music and wrote every good song and produced them, too. I wasn't there in the studio. He probably shoved George Martin out of the way until he could get everything to sound just right. Hey,maybe he secretly did everything on all of John,George, and Ringo's solo albums too-or at least all the good songs. He probably wrote Imagine. It's way too strong a song for John to have written it. Only Paul could have written a melody that was that catchy.
But I've seen enough live footage of the other three to say that Ringo was a great drummer,George was a great guitar player and sang great harmonies, and John was a great guitar player who had a fantastic voice. I'm impressed with all four of them in the live performances that I've seen. Paul is a great bass player and has a great voice, but I don't think he played all the instruments when they performed in concert. Of course,he could have taped all of them and the other three were just great at miming. Yea,that's probably how it was. There were hidden tape recorders.

Well on SOME songs he did do the drum parts, or leasd guitar.  Very few songs though, and I dont think this takes anything away from the others as musicians

Usually on some of his songs Paul'd learn all the parts: drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, vocal harmonies, then turn to the other guys and say, "Do this.." He's a proficient drummer, certainly a very good piano player, and no need to mention his bass playing. Just listen to "Martha My Dear"...

A perfectionist, he knew exactly what he wanted..but along the way, George, John and Ringo got offended.

Jake, maybe you heard that Paul played drums on Back In The U.S.S.R., perhaps? And you just mixed up the song names? Cause I know that's one of the few, or only songs he played on.

Maybe?

Paul also played drums on The Ballad of John & Yoko - in fact George and Ringo didn't appear at all on that track.

'Back In The USSR', 'Dear Prudence', and 'Ballad of J/Y' are the only three songs that the Beatles recorded with Paul on drums. (reported anyways)
