The Pound Is Sinking
Just love his voice (especially when he screams,,,,'Oh,,it didnt happen') and the different stages of the song.
(On a sidenote, I love the guitar solo on 'Somebody Who Cares')
-
I voted Somebody Who Cares because of the special atmosphere in the song. Plus I love the solo on acoustic guitar.
-
Here Today.Touching lyrics and melody.
-
three great acoustic songs on this album somebody who cares, here today and tug of war. I think somebody who cares just pips it.
no one gone for ebony and ivory then ;D
-
here today! for sure
-
Take It Away. A catchy pop song. I love the chorus and brass in the end. Perfectly produced and recorded, and with two drum sets, one of them played by Ringo! :)

I'm watching "Take It Away" right now on the McCartney Years :)

Dress Me Up As A Robber
-
i voted the title track 'Tug of War', one of his finest songs,
a beautiful melody!
BUT, ISN'T ANYONE TEMPTED TO VOTE 'EBONY & IVORY'? :P

Dress Me Up As A Robber
Great guitar solo in this one too, not to mention the drumming by Dave Mattacks. Good song.
-
Tug of War. Just for the moment when Paul sings "..in years to come they may discover.." That little section. 33 seconds of sheer beauty. When he sings "..but it won't be soon enough.." it just hits me right here. *pounds chest*
I made a loop of that section somewhere. I can listen to it for hours.

Wanderlust. Love the counter melody and the horns!

I really think Wanderlust is the all-time favorite Paul song of my mother. She always sings out of key the tune when I play the record.
Tug of War - what a great album. Thank you Paul. :)
-
I like Ebony and Ivory because i think it reminds me of my childhood days, when my uncle used to tell me about it a lot and when i grew up i downloaded it and it was really a great song. ;D
-
I voted Here Today. Very nice lyrics, very emotional, gets the messege across, singing beautiful.
Wonderlust is another good one off this album for me.
Tug of War is good too, but its too long at the end I reckon.
-
Wanderlust. I think his voice sounds so good on it. I just like it a lot. One of my favorite Paul songs, not just on this album, but overall.
Here Today is a good song, but it is too sad.
-
there are too much... I really can't choose any of them because all of them are masterpieces, from "ebony n ivory" to "dress me up as a robber". really awesome thread, but that album had too many great songs :)
-
'The Pound Is Sinking' is my favorite.
-
I can't pin it down to one song, I like...
What's That You're Doing - McCartney has never been funkier!
Here Today
Sombody Who Cares - Sorry Blue Meanie but I'd be dishonest if I didn't say that McCartney should be performing this fantastic song live.
Ebony And Ivory
Take It Away - yet another one that McCartney should be performing live.

I'll let that one go then. ;D

Happy to see that you two are now getting along (and I'm not being sarcastic). (thumbsup) ;)
-
I didn't know that me and Blue Meanie weren't getting along, I thought it was just a difference of opinion?
To me if a person isn't consistent in how they feel, or what they think, then they're not honest!

Ballroom Dancing IS a great toe tapper its upbeat old style music Here today and Take it Away is the next 2 Favs

Just love his voice (especially when he screams,,,,'Oh,,it didnt happen') and the different stages of the song.
(On a sidenote, I love the guitar solo on 'Somebody Who Cares')
I agree 100%...this is definitely one of my favourite McCartney albums...unfortunately it's marred by the likes of 'Ebony & Ivory'. 'Somebody Who Cares' is a great tune and the solo is fantastic...but the bass work of Stanley Clarke really sets the mood.
'Get It' with Carl Perkins is a real classic moment...I love how the Perkins laugh segues into Be What You See.

I love this song and I also dig the laugh.

I feel the same way. That part in "TOW" is just so, so beautiful and haunting. So I voted for this song and it's one of my favorite Macca tunes, too.
This is a really lovely album overall. "Here Today" is my second favorite song because it's such a heartfelt tribute to Paul's friendship with John.
-
Relistening to it right now. Mine too, one of the most favorite albums. Love it!
Fav song The Pound Is Sinking. It is so different and interesting.
Though first three songs of the album seems boring for me because they are simple.
