The Beatles Collection Cassettes
« on: April 22, 2011, 10:10:43 PM »

Hi all, I'm Geoff and am new to the forum.
My interest in the Beatles music goes back to when I was a teenager in the seventies.

Back then, I bought a new boxed set of 13 cassettes in a blue presentation box which I have now found after a recent house move.
I have tried looking around for info on the net to see if they are collectible but can find very little information.
Can anyone tell me if they are a rarity?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Geoff, welcome

my guess is it wouldnt be worth much as you can still buy the LP box sets pretty cheap on ebay.

Thanks nimrod.
I have seen a lot of the vinyl sets for sale but the cassettes seem rare.
I never play cassettes any more so would like to sell them and was wondering what their value might be.
Maybe I'll just put them on fleabay and see what happens.

hi geoff, welcome.keep hold of them!!i've never seen an example of what you have.i'm no expert or collector but maybe they are worth more to you, than to sell them?it sounds like a quite unusual box set you have there.get stuck in with these debates we've got going!!

Hi glass onion, I never play cassettes any more so there is no point in keeping them really.
I'd rather sell them on and let somebody else enjoy them.

There is no value in them as listening media as the CDs are far superior.

The only value they have is to someone who collects cassettes. You will have a similar market in those that collect the Apple 8-tracks. Dead media, cool collector's items. (No, I am not interested.)
