Mr. Moonlight
« on: May 19, 2011, 03:29:21 AM »

Do you know what I think? I think the stereo mix fades longer than the mono mix. But another stereo mix found on the US stereo LP called Beatles '65 fades more longer.

I don't know either, Gary.  I've liked Mr. Moonlight from the first time I heard John's opening vocal.

Because it sucks. Sorry to be so honest, but it does.

Easily one of their worst songs ever. Lets see, the horrible organ, the terrible production, shaky backgrounds. Johns voice is decent and thats truly the only redeeming quality I can hear with this song.

Here there's a version by the Hollies.

I like this version. The vocals save The Beatles' version for me. I don't skip it when it comes on!

I don't skip any Beatles song. I always force myself to listen to the whole album when I put any record. ;D

Even Revolution 9? That would be loyalty above and beyond the call of duty!  ;)

Although I really like The Hollies, this was pretty awful. The Beatles didn't do so bad after all.

Yeah, love the Hollies and the managed to do a much worse version than the Beatles. Wow.

That Hollies version is terrible.
I don't mind the Beatles version - certainly not one of their best songs, but I don't skip it when it comes on.
The organ sound is horrible and I agree that the production isn't great on it, but it could have bee a lot worse (as the Hollies proved!)

Yeah, even Revolution 9! But it's not that I love every Beatles song, it's just what I do when I listen to any record, I listen to it all, because I always may discover something new. I do the same with other bands I like. For example, the album Da Capo by Love ends with a song called "Revelation" that is 19 minutes long! And I always listen to it when I put that record. :)

Yes, 'Revelation' can be hard to get through sometimes.
