rap

however, most rappers are better than the crappy pop stars of today

Rowdy:
Rock isn't dead....just look at the thriving indie scene and the great music coming out...it's just that the good rock isn't in the mainstream, so you won't casually notice it.

www.pitchforkmedia.com That site will show you that it's still in existence.

Bruno:
I agree with Rowdy, rock isn't dead. You don't need to wait for the media to feed you with a spoon, there are a lot of good rock bands out there.

I'll tell you what killed rock and roll.  VAN-FREAKIN-HALEN!!!!!  One of the worst things to happen to the music scene.

There's still some good bands.  Oasis is one of the best bands ever, and they're still goin.  Although I think if the Gallagher brothers can't pull their sh*t together then they won't be around for much longer.  Pearl Jam is also a great band.  It's not dead yet.  Maybe there will be a revival before too long.

Bruno:
but there are new bands that rock as well. Take Velvet Revolver for example, they are an excellent hard rock band. Their debut album Contraband is amazing and it's on my CD player all the time.

Audioslave is another excellent supergroup
