I used to sell garter snakes at school in Jr. High! I always took the shortcut along the old railroad tracks and in May/June they were everywhere. I'd get 1$ a snake. Needless to say the school was full of snakes!!!

Good grief! I would have had to transfer out of that school!

LOL I would have, too! I hate snakes. I also hate any sort of insect. The only insects that don't frighten me are ladybugs.

My biggest fear is a large-scale terrorist attack, or a shooting at one of my kids' schools. Like you, Ovi, I am claustrophobic -- if I don't think I can get out of particular location (esp. elevators) my anxiety kicks in big time. I had a hard time in DC when the subways would stop in the tunnels. UGH.

I have a serious phobia for fish. It's so bad that I never go into natural waters.

Snakes are a big one for me, I want to run from them, there are ones here that can kill, in fact the Eastern Brown snake is quite common where I live, luckily they are shy of humans...big spiders give me the sh*ts as well :D

I also have a fear of big dogs after seeing 2 German Shepherds savage a child in a park

When I first played in a band (age 19) I remember getting up on stage and basically freezing, my fingers went stiff and I had an ache in my chest such was my anxiety, luckily I overcame this, now I could walk on any stage without fear

My only fear is that either someone will steal my Beatles collection or that I'll go deaf and won't be able to listen to their albums anymore.  :'(

Yeah, great song! That was on the radio when I was in High School. Every time it came on every one would sing along!

^^^

He made me laugh with this song....

My dad got a big kick out of this too, especially the ending.

My cousin's husband was a professional musician for many years and worked with Jim Stafford at one time. He taught him to play the piano, so I've been told.

Always learning something new on this forum! I'd never heard of Jim Stafford before.

On a semi-related note, I was surprised to learn that Al Jolson was Lithuanian. I'm half-Lithuanian myself, and it's not a common nationality, at least not in my experience. I usually get "Lith - u - WHAT?" when it comes up.

Off to learn more about Jim Stafford.....

Stafford was on the radio a fair amount in the 70's with the songs posted. I think Spiders and Snakes was on constantly when it was released.

I have a boxed set of Al Jolson records from way back upstairs. I don't have a 78 speed stereo anymore. I'll send a picture sometime!
