The Runaways

The movie looks pretty cool. I love seventies era type movies though. I know nothing about the band. Other than three of the members it spawned. I wonder how accurate it's gonna be. Looks a bit romanticized. Good casting though. Although Kristen Stewart is not nearly as beautiful as Joan Jett was. Anyone know anything about them?

I'm more of a Joan Jett solo fan than a Runaways fan, but their first album is pretty good. Plus, you have to admire them for breaking a lot of boundaries as an all-girl rock band.

All I remember about them is that Cherie Currie was in the movie Foxes with Jodie Foster. In the previews it makes it look like they were huge, but I have a feeling no one even knew who they were! Plus, they seemed to be just a cover band. Either way, I love seventies era movies based on a true event. Even though it will most likely be greatly spinned to Joan Jett's side. They're even starting to play her on the radio again. Heard this today after I don't know HOW long:
Joan Jett - I Love Rock And Roll
Remember how obsessed everyone was this when it first came out? Weird.
Like this one too. But still, all covers!
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - Crimson & Clover

Cherie Currie was so pretty in the movie Foxes, I always thought.
I rarely venture out to the theatres anymore for movies, but if I have a chance to go, I'd like the see The Runaways.

Yeah, about the only part of the movie I remember is when she o.d's. I should rent it.
