Peter Asher
« on: July 27, 2012, 04:22:25 PM »

Just finished a phone chat with Peter (Peter & Gordon) Asher for a story I'll be writing for the paper I work for about the show he'll be doing in Somerville on August 8.

Nice guy.

The show is interesting. It's a combination of song, multi-media presentation, and talk, all about his career and the many things he's done in the music business.

You know, he not only was one half of the hugely successful pop duo in the Golden Brit Invasion age. For a time he ran A&R at Apple Records and later became a great record producer, among many other things. Some career.

Anyway, I'll post a link for the online version of the story once it's up.

Here's his Web site: www.peterashermusic.com

I appreciate the interest, but don't set your expectations too high. It's a small paper and the feature will mostly be about promoting Peter's gig. No major revelations or big examination of his history. I'll post the link when it's up. Either sometime next week or a week from this Wednesday.

Great article Klang. Really well done.

I had forgotten that he founded the Indica and I surely didnt know he worked with that many people in the industry. I'd check him out if he ever came close. Thanks for the read.

Something I didn't include is that he was also a founding partner of The Roxy, one of West Hollywood's great clubs. The guy sure made the most of his lucky break. Damn good on him.
