New documentary delves into Beatles' Apple Records era

The Beatles' Apple Records label wasn't the only artist-backed label to ever seek out new talent. But the wide range of artists signed under its umbrella was unique. And the commercial success that people like Mary Hopkin and Badfinger achieved made the project even more so.  A new documentary, "Strange Fruit -- The Beatles Apple Records," that will look at the behind-the-scenes story of the Beatles' label is to be released April 24 on DVD. The film will look at its history and how the label was founded, how it operated and the music it releasedSee a video preview of "Strange Fruit -- The Beatles Apple Records" at left.
