squeeze-great band!

has anybody here ever heard squeeze?i listen to them all the time, and fink theyre a great band, with really good songwriters, difford and tilbrook.

ive been listning to them for quite a while, as my dad likes them, and has seen them in concert twice, and had a beer with them backstage! ;Dlove it!

anyway, the music is really good, and gives good memories...anybody else know em?

i never really cared for "modern" music and it just so happened that I had a neighbor who used to write for rolling stone in the 70s or so(it wsnt too bad long ago). He thought me a lot bout rock and roll and I started doing some research on my own.

besides, why cant a 13 yr old like good music. turnmeondeadman is only 12 ands hes pretty knowledgeable of music.

Squeeze are BRILLIANT! I've seen them in concert once and I've also seen Glenn Tilbrook, the lead vocalist, lead guitarist and song co-writer. I got into them in about 1979 *cough cough* when I was still at school!

Great melodies and lyrics combine to make 3:00 minute masterpieces!

Yeah, I like 'em! ;D

I missed Glen Tilbrook who done a gig about 2 minutes walk from my house. I was ashamed to hear only 180 people turned up. Jools Holland will be here on March 4th...I won't be missing that. ;) I like Jools a lot.

Whatever you do, please don't miss Glen Tilbrook again - he was superb! He did all the old Squeeze hits... every single one! Believe me, no one went home disappointed that night!

I have a track by Squeeze listed in my top 5 songs of all time - Another Nail In My Heart - that's when Jools Holland was still in the band.

Jools Holland will be brilliant in concert too I expect!! Did you know he's still got the original Squeeze drummer in his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra  - Gilson Lavis.

Yo Al! Yeah I knew about the drummer. He's got Sam Brown (Daughter of Joe) and one time Floyd backing vocalist with him too!.....Thanks for the insight on Glen...I really should have checked that out. I fear he may never play down here again. :(

Oh yeah, Sam Brown of "Stop" fame.

Yeah, you may have missed the boat (or ferry!) with Glen Tilbrook - I doubt if he relishes playing to just 180 people! LOL ;)

LOL...yeah, agreat song ...Much better than that recent cover by Jamelia. I know. people down here whinge for not having any great acts coming down throughout the year and then they don't show when they do...Just typical! lol

Yeah typical!

Well listen to this then... I turned down a ticket for The Killers as Brixton academy tonight because I was too tired, and yet here I am still typing away at 1:26am!!!!! LOL ;D

Oh, I never said a 13 yr old can't like good music (I had a pretty good musical taste when I was 13 if I say so myself  ;D).

It's just that you won't find a lot of 13 yr olds that know bands like Squeeze.
