Rumour of a "new beatles"
« on: August 15, 2004, 05:06:46 PM »

I've heard via some posts on another board that some posters have heard via their local top 40 radio station, that there will be a tour of a "new Beatles" next year....

facts are pretty sketchy...but would anyone here know anthing about it? I've searched on the official boards and have found nothing on same...

I sure hope that's true... Paul & Ringo touring together in a band that plays nothing but Beatles songs... I'd DEFINATELY be very interested in seeing that...

ahh...I heard nothing about that at all...only that a "new Beatles" would be touring in 2005...

course, if that's true, I'd buy 10 tickets NO MATTER WHAT THEY COST....

I would bet my left teste that it is most certainly untrue.

And that's my favorite!

Seriously, if Paul and Ringo toured in ANY fashion, it would NEVER be as 'the Beatles'.  They know they cannot because the two of them aren't.  They are Ex-Beatles and will always be that way.

Secondarily there are no musicians on the planet that would ever be accepted by the old fans, not one.  Including P & R.

There never will be a new Beatles.  There will be a new someone else, but the Beatles were a phenomenon of their times and cannot be replicated.

I guess somebody needs to be negative about the idea so it might as well be me. In my opinion, that would be the ultimate sell-out. I'd love to see Paul and Ringo tour together, but I wouldnt want them to play Beatle material exclusively. If they traded solo tunes with a tad of Beatles thrown in, then i'd be all for it. Remember how well the 21st century Doors tour was recieved?

Well Paul is going to tour the US next year maybe that could be related. Or maybe a Beatles "tribute" band of sorts might be touring .. Tribute 64 perhaps. Looked over the net for some news couldn't find any.

Hmmm, I don't know if I like that idea. It just isn't the Beatles without John and George.

Heh, maybe it's James Jr., Dhani, Sean, and Zak forming Beatles 2000. ;D

BTW, I"M KIDDING! Just in case someone thought I've lost my mind or something.

I don't think it's true....even if it would be, it will never be the same...the Beatles were 4 guys that their destiny was playing music together....without John and George it's useless...
