Badfinger drummer dies

I just read about this a few minutes ago. Sad.


 
Badfinger drummer Michael Gibbins died yesterday (Oct. 4) in his sleep at his home in Florida at the age of 56. A cause of death was not made public. Funeral and visitation details can be found on Gibbins' official Web site.

Originally known as the Iveys, the group rose to fame in the late '60s as the first act signed to the Beatles' Apple label. It was the beneficiary of the Paul McCartney-penned "Come and Get It," which was a top-5 U.K. hit in 1968 and eventually reached No. 7 on the Billboard pop singles chart in 1970.

I just bought my first Badfinger CD on the 4th. I hope my aura or bad karma or juju or whatever didn't have anything to do with it.

Back in '89/'90, a friend of mine went to see the Dead, and Brent Mydland died 2 days later, then he went to see Clapton/SRV/etc. at Alpine Valley--Stevie Ray beefs it in a helicopter right after the show. This is a bit dated now, but he told me that the next show he goes to see is New Kids on the Block.

A thousand pardons oh Lard of the Odds. I get it now. Badfinger. I guess if you had a bad finger, it would probably be the middle one which of course an odd number finger and it only stands to reason that... WAIT A MINUTE!! I only get an hour for lunch ya sod!
