First CD I've ever bought (with my own money) was a collection of ballads by Frank Sinatra, when I was 14.

First Beatles CD was "1" one year later. I will never forget the day...

My dad had some Beatle records he would play while I was growing up and then some tapes and cds as the years went by.  But I think the first one I bought was 1 album.

The first album ever... I can't remember...  :'(

Oh, you "young-uns" on the board..............
My first album I wanted for my 11 birthday were two, actually.  And this was before I discovered the Beatles back in the early 1970's........."Goofy Greats" and "Wacky Westerns" by K-Tel.  Ok........any of you older folks on here know about K-Tel and the stuff they put out............
Then, almost a year later...........when I got "bitten" by the Beatle Bug, the first two albums I wanted were, "The Beatles-1962-1966" and "Rock'n'Roll Music".  I wore these two out, and then it was every album after that that I got get to buy with my allowance.

K-tel rubbish was forehead smackingly bad when it came out, but not surprisingly its sheer lameness has made it semi-collectible now.

My Mum bought me A Hard Day's Night for my 10th birthday in 1968. I think the first album I bought myself was Electric Warrior, by T. Rex.

^ same time, around 69-70, for some reason I decided to buy an LP (no idea why.) So I popped down to the appliance shop - the only place you could buy records in those days - and the only name I recognised was The Beatles. Thinking this has to be good I bought it, took it home and threw it on the radiogram. Unfortunately it was one of the many Hamburg/Tony Sheridan mutants. I had no knowledge of the band and was shocked at how incredibly awful  it was.
First album I bought knowingly was Queens Night at The opera. Loved it.
I now adore The Beatles and hate Queen. Funny how things turn out.

A collection of Oldies ... but Goldies. I got it on cassette, cos I only had a tape player at the time, and I'd previously got it from the library (20p for 1 week's loan, I remember it well). Happy times ...

"Venus and Mars"

I saw a rerun of the 'James Paul McCartney' TV special and 'Big Barn Bed' stuck in my head and I couldn,t remember the words or the title and I thought it was on 'Venus and Mars'. It wasn't.

My first album is my parents` vinyl Please Please Me. I adore it! The first I bought was Let It Be. The song Get Back drives me crazy, i can`t remain in my seat when I hear it.

The first one that I "bought" was 1 for my dad (I was 11 so it was definately not my own money).  I can't remember the first album I bought with my own money.  I think it was Let It Be.  I got all the others as gifts or (I know this will make me sound like a bad fan) I borrowed the CDs from the library and then just copied them  :B

The first album I bought was "Please Please Me".  At the time I was young, I guess about 11, and I recognized the most tracks from it then.  I saved up allowance money and went to the store with my parent's and quickly picked it up.

The first album I listened to was Revolver since I just checked it out like three times in a row from the library so I "owned if for the better part of three months. I didn't actually buy an album until 1 which I bought the night before I went to summer camp.  I still love that one.
