I saw that on one of the sites I frequent, amazing.  To those that were around for the beatlemania , god bless you, you were so lucky.

Can you imagine that, blmeanie?  Ten songs in one day!  That's why John's vocals on Twist And Shout are memorable.

I was lucky alright but at the time I didn't realize how lucky I was.  When I first heard The Beatles, we didn't have the complete catalogue of their work available.  It was album-by-album throughout the 60s.  As they matured, so did we.  I'll always remember Rubber Soul as a turning point in their career...and a turning point in my life as I came of age.  Rubber Soul has been and will always be my favorite Beatles album.

They actually recorded eleven songs in one day !

They probably spent about an hour on Hold Me Tight.

They did 13 takes, not all complete, but didn't use it in the end for their first album.

good point, those that lived through the progression was a totally different perspective to fans that came later

for me, the red album and the blue a while after that were my introductions to their vinyl, it was a while later before I discovered any of their "real" albums and many incredible songs not on red/blue

The red and blue albums are the only Beatles albums I don't have.  :)
