Does anyone know what Paul's saying when he sings in French in this song?

Michelle ma belle sont des mots qui vont tres bien ensemble.
My beautiful Michelle are (three) words that go very well together.
The 'three' isn't in there but can make the meaning clearer.

It could also be translated:
"My beautiful Michelle these are words that go together well"

I like this song, but a lot of people hate it. Why is that?

I love this song, it's real cheeky writing. It's writing about writing and commenting on how clever it is. Only Paul could do that. ;-D

The song was actually written as a joke - he would sing it at parties, when he was in his younger days, in a thick French accent!
