Well, this will depend on who your favourite Beatle is. Mine is JOHN; so of course I go for JOHN's solo music. I think it's much better than Paul's in the sense that JOHN always wrote more about his private feelings, how he felt every time, and Pauls's songs were more commercial.. But Paul's fans will tell you otherwise...

I like both but if I had to pick one...it would be John. John's solo music is sad and it has more love songs in it. OK, Paul is good too but I just need to pick one of them.

Though I love alot of Johns solo work I prefer Pauls more because its a bit more melodic.
John wrote many great songs lyrically but I prefer Pauls music for sense of overall production. Maybe Im Amazed and Back Seat Of MY Car are fantastic tracks by Paul. Though John may still have the best Beatles solo song Imagine.

I prefer Paul's music because it has the great lyrics and the great melodies, it has the whole package really. Although John's is a close second!

Paul, really. It might have something to do with how I grew up with Paul's solo music, whereas John's is something I recently discovered. Plus, I like the, er, some might call it "commercialism" of Paul's music.

How to choose.  George is my favorite Beatle, John comes in second there, when he was With the Beatles I enjoyed the his songs better, but solo work is hard to choose.  I feel bad for saying it, but I like Pauls solo work much better, I always loved John for teh way he thought, for who he was, but he just didn't seem that interested in making music after the beatles broke, or at least not as crazy about it as Paul, plus Paul wrote a song named Heather! :P

Their 70's work is on par with one another..........but Paul has only had two or three great releases since 1980.....and if you were to take the top thirty or so songs from their solo careers, John would win in a landslide.

I see it in the exact opposite light.

I can't decide, I love them both equally but in different ways. I guess it's a testimony to John that his relatively small number of solo releases can compete with Macca's huge amount.

I cannot decide.

I don't know. Could someone list some of their better solo songs. I need a refresher. I'm more into their Beatles work anyway. And they were always equal then.

John's is my favourite. I like some of Paul's songs but I was never a big fan of his solo music. I also like George's.
