That was actually an awesome collection of great rock songs the Beatles recorded during their entire career, be it covers or Beatles originals. I don`t grasp why this superb collection was deleted in 1987, instead of being transferred to the new CD format.

I totally agree! I have the vinyl copy of this album and it really is great! What's strange though is the fact that no tracks from Revolver, Sgt Pepper or Abbey Road were used!
-
Clearly all this stuff is already available on the official catalog. This is just a compilation.
-
They can't put all those weird compilations on CD...there would be far too many.
-
Just this collection, not the others. It`s great collection of tracks, and shows that the Beatles were more than just a mere "pop group" (like some distractors like to argue).
Compilations are there for the casual fan, or the non-fan, not for people that already have everything on CD.
-
i think that if you're going to put one compilation of songs that are already on albums onto cd, then you really have to put all the compilations of songs that are already on albums onto cd. seeing as this is a bit excessive, they just didnt bother. anyway, if you've got the songs on the albums already you could just burn them onto a cd in the right order and bob's your uncle - instant Rock and Roll Music
-
I'm glad they didn't put all those compilations on CD.
All the original albums are worth having, so why put just one kind of music on one record?
The sleeves were usually awful and Rock and Roll Music is a case in point.Apparently they could have used a Lennon drawing but preferred their own dumb idea... ::)
-
I thought the music on the Rock & Roll Music compilation was great but it almost cheapened the Beatles legacy because the album cover itself was terrible along with the inside showing 50's nostalgia which was ridiculous.

wayne you sly dog.you slipped that one in didn't you?
