the choice of using "best" in the description is a difficult word and will create vast differences I imagine in choices

I started to make my 14 song LP with songs I thought would be good examples of Beatles tracks for someone that never has been exposed to their music coupled with songs I would want on the only LP I had with me on a deserted island...

As a note, any/all of these songs could easily be swapped out for a different 14 list :)

Drive my Car
All my loving
I should have known better
paperback writer
Day Tripper
She Love You
Yesterday

I am the Walrus
here comes the sun
All you need is love
Something
Let it Be
Hey Jude
A day in the Life

I'm not entirely clear on which songs are specific to the UK singles or EPs, so I'll pass on this one.  :)
