Only just heard about this today a Beatle Weekend up in Dundee in Scotland in August with more details coming soon. Mebe it will be cheaper then going to Beatle Week Liverpool.

Wow - that's excellent that someone has decided to organise something like that.
I know there's a Beatles tribute band up in Dundee because they went down and played in Glasgow the night before Macca played at Hampden last year. I can't remember their name but I wonder if they are behind this weekend.
Whoever it is, good luck to them!

Yeah, I was on the Paul McCartney forum before I went up to see him in Glasgow last year and there were a few people saying they were going to see a Beatles tribute band in Glasgow the evening before the Macca gig. It was definitely Revolver they mentioned. They got very good reviews afterwards from the people on the Macca forum who attended.

From Friday, August 12, to Sunday, August 14, the beautiful city of DUNDEE  will host Beatles fans from around the world for an extravaganza of the very best in live bands, exhibitions, film premieres, speakers, and Beatles-related fun and games.

Friday night kicks off with a gig from the awesome Them Beatles. Saturday’s full day of events will start at noon with a spectacular rooftop gig by Dundee’s own Revolver and climax with the magnificent Cavern Beatles at Fat Sam’s LIVE. Sunday will be a more chilled-out affair with acoustic sets, films and a chance to relax after the full-on Saturday.

Hmmm....speaking of ancestors, Kelley, mine come from Ireland and Lithuania. I don't suppose there's a Lithuanian Beatles weekend.     (Perhaps an Irish one, though!)

Kathy, my grandfather was Irish but during the potato famine his grandparents I guess it would be went to Scotland. I still have a little piece of a tinsel garland his mother used to decorate their Christmas trees before they came to America in 1903.
