Jeff Beck is one of the greatest guitarist out there. What do you guys think of him? Did you guys know he was just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
Here's a clip of him playing "cause we've ended as lovers." This is off his latest album that's coming out on Nov. 25.

he is good but reclusive...i wouldn't go see him live for that reason...it sounds like a whale song...lol
-
I like his playing. Only have the one album though - Blow By Blow. My brother went to see him a couple of years ago, and thought he was excellent.
Btw, can someone move this to Various Artists?
-
'Blow By Blow' and 'Wired' are both awesome.
Lets just say that I thought he was the best guitarist to come out of the Yardbirds and leave it at that. ;)

Old geezer story: when I was in high school a friend of mine had an 8-track copy (I did say old geezer story) of Wired that he used to play in his car all the time. A great album.
-
yeah wired is the best...him and jan hammer did an album together that i am fond of and truth is also a good album...
-
rod stewart sang lead on the first few jeff beck albums...

I think they recorded a live album together not long after they made Wired. Can't remember, though.
-
wired is also one of my favorite albums... and mine was also on a 8-track.
i can't wait to hear the new one.

There's a poster in a nearby pub window advertising The Yardbirds* live on 9th December! The attached photo featured a lot of pensioners, but no one I recognised. If it includes some original members surely they could play to bigger audiences thatn this.
* Yes I checked the spelling. Doesn't appear to be a tribute band.

Really? Where is this at? I want to go! Are you gonna go?

I was just lucky enough to see the Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart, Ron Wood and Mickey Waller when they made their US debut at the Fillmore East. I was fifteen. It was the first time I'd ever seen a band get a standing ovation. And yes, Rod did seem to have stage fright.
They opened for the Grateful Dead.
Mickey Waller was extremely impressive without being too flashy. I saw that he passed away not too long ago:

It seems that Chris Dreja on rhythm guitar, and Jim McCarty on Drums are the only original members. Someone called Ben King plays lead.
