It's a fantastic tune but picking the greatest Beatle song is an impossible task for me. Everyday of my life, one of their songs has a different bearing on me.

I think it passes the "test" of time! It's a great epic as said earlier! I did hear a version that has John on a reverb counting as oppose to the orchestra which in my opinon is even better!

Johns vocals are superb. as George Martin says they send a shiver down your spine. Really evokes a feeling of  despair.

I Am The Walrus is a stunning example of "John's cool voice" at the time! The whole sitting on a corn flake waiting for the band to come part! The drumming is excellent also! This song shows how the Beatles rose above all that was going on in the music industry at that time and produced an above average song!

Wow you learn something new everyday! How do you know that?  I still think it sounds better than the orchestra and the whole "Sugar plum fairy" intro is better than the final take!
