Favourite John Lennon Solo Song?

If you could only choose one. Yeah I know it's impossible, but I pick Imagine.

I think I'd have to pick "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)".  It's just perfect, and I get a lot of comfort from it.  And I think it's the lullaby that John would have wanted from his father.

I agree with both of you, that song is just beautiful. The bit at the end of that song, where he sings, "I can hardly wait to see you to come of age, but I guess we'll both just have to be patient," destroys me every time.

Yes! Beautiful Boy is my #1 too. It's so sweet and a lullabye to Julian in my eyes.

It makes me sad for John, but at the same time it's almost like it's for him...  I bet he was thinking about his father when he wrote it too, not just what he wanted to say to Sean.
When I listen to it, it's like John comforting me, and I'm comforting John too.  Hence I always sing the last line as "darling darling darling...  darling John."  :)
