I enjoy both of these albums, but the Toronto one has this raw energy that really screams out rock and roll....John isn't at his finest in either, but at least the Toronto one seems to have a lot more energy than his New York City release...

I like the live In new York City more.
-
Live in NYC is slightly better imo

Even though John's my favorite, I just always felt he never lived long enough to really shine in his live performances. I'm not fond of either of these concerts; John is nervous and they're not very good. However, I'd take NYC over Toronto because he plays more of his own music. ANd, after all, I'm from New York :)

You know, a good thing about this place is that it's inspired me to throw on stuff I haven't heard in years.
Right now I've dusted off LIVE IN NYC and I'm listening to it as I type. I know why it's been years; it's just so amateurish. Pretty poor.

Oh, I agree Joe!
I myself prefer the Toronto one, because I am not very favorable to the NYC one because he sounds so nervous. I read somewhere that John suffered from serious stage fright...does anyone else know about this besides me?
Anyway, in the Live in NYC, I think the version of Mother is breathtaking. I just think its got so much emtion to it. I love it!

Live Peace In Toronto is a great live album showcasing John at his finest(excluding Yoko) playing more bluesy & more ballsy hard rock which is superior to LINYC even though it's highly underrated which is ludicrious. The video of this classic performance which I saw about 15 years ago Lennon is looking about as cool as you get with his shoulder length long hair, mustache & beard, playing his signature guitar at the time & wearing his Abbey Road suit.
