Really sad news that founding member of the Moody Blues, Mike Pinder has passed away.

Mike was a key part of their transition from an R&B band to early prog rock. He was a friend of John Lennon and introduced him to the Mellotron.

He also won an Ivor Novello composers award for his song A Simple Game which was a hit for The Four Tops.

Although there was obviously rancor in his split from the Moodies in the late 70s, he always came across as an intelligent and decent person.

As a huge Moodies fan it’s sad to see another member pass away.

RIP Mike

Linda Ronstadt joined The Rolling Stones one night in the late 70s to sing Tumbling Dice with Mick Jagger as a duet.  I'm still searching for a video of that...

That must have been somethin!

^

It's even more impressive watching and hearing Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt perform this duet live...

Linda Ronstadt complemented Aaron Neville's solo elegantly.

She could sing beautifully with just about anyone...

This is a first, I  think: a Beatles book I don't feel compelled to read.

I wouldn't bather with Patterson's Lennon book either, I'm not enjoying it.
