I like it. Do you suppose it was influenced by "A Day in the Life"? It does have an alarm clock in it.  ;)

I'm sure it was.  Daydream Believer was recorded shortly after Sgt. Pepper's was released.

It's a song by John Stewart of the Kingston Trio.  Peter Tork did the arrangement.

Why John Stewart, why Solid Gold? And where were they hiding Stevie Nicks during this performance?  ;D

This is why I was stuck in the 60s during the 70s.  The original Daydream Believer as recorded in the 60s by John Stewart is no longer on YouTube, unfortunately.  It's a C&W ballad.

But I found this...

Me too. It made me a little different from the other kids but that never bothered me. Then, when I was a senior, everybody decided they loved the Doors.
Go figure.

I knew he was on too that night but I never saw this footage. His turn to get screamed at was coming!

Here's something a bit more recent. It's a commercial that my son's former landlord did for the Williamsport (Pa) Symphony Orchestra in 2005. The other man in the car is conductor Robin Fountain. This project led to my brush with fame at the dining room table.  ;)
