Ken Scott: 'The Beatles Were The Most Experimental Band Ever'

Ken Scott is considered one of the most respected engineers and producers in the history of rock music. Having started working at Abbey Road Studios in the late 60's, one of his first sessions was working with The Beatles. Scott later worked with artists as such as David Bowie (including Bowie’s classic albums, 1971’s "Hunky Dory" and 1972’s "The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust"), Mahavishnu Orchestra, Supertramp, Lou Reed, Devo, Dixie Dregs, Missing Persons, and Jeff Beck to name but a few. In Ultimate Guitar’s continuing "The Producers and Engineers" series, Joe Matera put in a call to Ken Scott to in order to discuss his career, capturing the sound of some of the greatest guitarists of our time and how engineering and recording has evolved for Scott over the past 45 years.
