Well German has three "the" ...  ;)

But at least they have understandable rules for when to use 'der', 'die' or 'das'. :)

Well, now I understand! It must be difficult for that reason too. You won`t believe it but we don`t have any articles at all. That`s why it is articles that present the most problem to us. The or a??? And all the exceptions??? But having two "the"...  :o  It must be more difficult than German!

I would have imagined Dutch is quite easy to learn, if you know a European language. When I did Afrikaans (which is quite similar to Dutch) it was quite easy beause it is similar to Russian (some of the words and the pronunciation)

Here's an Afrikaans song called Gautengeleng by Leon Schuster (a paradoy about South Africa and its main province, Gauteng - where I used to live)

NmvFW3Lh8Uo

Idan Raichel - he is well after my time in Israel, but I love this song

Here are two songs from my favourite Russian band, Beliy Orel (White Hawk)

Moya Lubov (My love) - beautiful guitar there

Kak Upoitelniy v Rossiye Vechera (How the evenings of Russia makes you high... its not a direct translation)
WEE4TYMhLvw

I believe the music video for that song is from a movie, do any Russians here know what movie is it?

I see I'm following KE's post so I'm reminded of a neat Australian homeland song.......just a short swim across the Tasman Sea for her:

It seems to be fairly easy for German, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian people but quite a bit harder for people from south European or English speaking countries.

Dutch and Afrikaans both evolved seperately from 17th century Dutch. Needless to say it sounds quite funny to us. :)

Hahaha, are they Russian? It's quite strange that a band make a song about a football match, especially if the teams are not from their country!

Yes, they are Russian. Maybe they are fans?  ;)
By the way, Arshavin is rather good now, if you know who I mean.

Arshavin? I think I've heard about him. Where does he play?

He played for Zenit (a Russian team) and now he is playing for Arsenal. But there must be more Liverpool fans here taking into account...

My team Independiente beat Liverpool 1-0 in 1984, for the Intercontinental Cup. :)

There`s now a joke here saying that if there had been 5 Beatles Arshavin would have scored 5 goals (a goal for each Beatle in Liverpool).
As for me I like both Liverpool and Arsenal.

What about Everton? That team is from Liverpool too. Actually, it seems that the colours of the Red and Blue albums were chosen because of the red and blue T-shirts of Liverpool and Everton, respectively.

Could the posters from Britain say whether it`s true. Or are you stating the fact? But it`s really interesting!
As for Everton, I think it`s so-so. But it`s my personal point of view, sorry!

I think I've read it somewhere. There's also the Yellow Submarine movie, when "Eleanor Rigby" is sounding, there are two football teams with red and blue T-shirts.

Of course that Liverpool is much greater than Everton, but it seems that the Beatles liked both teams.
