The first recording sessions for Revolver began on 6th April 1966 what a great album it is.

the cover is a work of art, the songs are just delicious.

The most revolutionary album in rock history.
In only 3 years we passed from "Love Me Do" to "Tomorrow Never Knows".

Amazing when you think about it!

A fantastic album. The cover I think reflects the album perfectly and I think this was quite a leap forward from Rubber Soul in terms of the sound and way the Beatles were evolving. Tomorrow Never Knows especially still sounds fresh today.

Possibly the single greatest album ever add to the fact that “Paperback Writer” and “Rain” both came from these sessions as well... absolutely ridiculous.

Recently I changed the order of my favorite albums, and this one wriggled it's way into the #2 spot behind Abbey Road naturally. After taking my course about the Beatles and learning so much about the album, it's truly a masterpiece in my eyes. 3rd would be Sgt. Pepper's for me as well.

I guess it's only fitting that today, for the first time, I heard a yawn at about 2 minutes into "I'm Only Sleeping". I must have listened to this album a million times and never noticed it before. I always wonder what the screaming masses thought when they got to the last track on this. My sister's collection ended with "Rubber Soul" so I'm guessing one of her friends told her "Revolver" was weird or something. ;) Sure wish I could ask her.

I didn't hear the yawn until I listened to Revolver with headphones for the first time while in college. My sister gave up with Rubber Soul and gave me the album. That's when I became a fan.

I heard a great description of Revolver today.
"14 songs, 36 minutes, no song sounds like any other yet you could be listening to no-one else. One of those rare albums that thoroughly deserves its status as a masterpiece."

That says it all really

And in august it’ll be 56 years old. :-\
