In the later 60's it seems that The beatles's songs were alot rougher.

well they moved away from the poppy boy loves girl songs and started exploring some darker themes.  Still mostly love and lots of peace.  Whatever it was it made for some kickass music!

Sexy Sadie, Revolution, lots of songs about more than just romance. During the late 60's they branched out a bit.

basically love was the root of it tho.....maxwell the story of a boys love for his hammer

 Yes, but those two have very open-air themes. We all kow Sexy sSadie is about the Maharishi and Revolution is about the May 68...
