I just thought about it, and on MMT below the picture it does not have the "Includes 24-page full color picture book" description. The package is supposed to have the book though. They are going with the later artwork that did not include the booklet.
Yes, the additional songs are included as well. It's not the double EP version.

Yes, that is what I felt too. I just was noticing the artwork. They are using the Capitol artwork, and not the EMI EP artwork. I think I am glad of that. I believe the first issue had the line about the "full color picture book", at least according to Spizer it does, and my recollections. I am just surprised they are not doing the same on the new packaging.

I do not know when on 19th November 1976 MMT came out in the UK as a album, what the artwork looked like. I am pretty sure it had the "full color picture book" line in the artwork. Ah, something to find wrong. I should have waited for the critics to do this.

Has anyone else heard any rumors that the remasters might be pushed back from 9/9/09?  I ask because I just was on-line with a Best Buy customer service, asking questions about delivery and/or in-store pick-up.  Here is the conversation, bolded for emphasis:

Michael : Thank you for contacting BestBuy.com, my name is Michael How can I assist you today?
customer : Hi, i had a question about the upcoming Beatles Cd box sets
Jeff : If I order online, can I pick it up in-store? It says coming soon.
Michael : Please hold one moment.
Jeff : If not, and I order from your website, will I receive the CDs on the release day if I select Express shipping?
Michael : If you request express shipping you will receive your items 2-3 days after release.
Jeff : So there is no way to receive the discs on release day?
Michael : If you were to be at the store on release day, You could.
Jeff : I understand that, but I would like some assurance that they will not be sold out (like pre-ordering them for pick-up)
Michael : May I have the SKU number of the items please?
Jeff : Sure, 9459276 The Beatles: Mono Box Set
Michael : Thank you. Please hold one moment.
Michael : I'm sorry, In store pickup is not an option.
Jeff : How likely is it that my Best Buy would receive this box set, in XXXXX (location removed)
Jeff : I have heard this is a limited sale item
Michael : I'm sorry, I don't have that information.
Jeff : Do you have any information on quantities available overall? I have heard there are only 10,000 copies.
Michael : No, I'm afraid I dont.
Jeff : Is there any reason stated why these are not available for in-store pick-up?
Michael : There is no reason stated.
Jeff : OK, well since you can't seem to answer any of my questions, I guess that's all for me. Thanks anyway.
Michael : Do you have something against ordering online for delivery?
Jeff : Yes, I would like to receive the discs on release date, because I am travelling the day afterwards
Michael : I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Michael : You know there is a possibility they will not be released 9/9/2009
Jeff : Really? That is the first I have heard about this.
Michael : Before we disconnect, Is there anything else that I can help you out with today?
Jeff : I guess not
Michael : Thank you for selecting to chat with a BestBuy.com Agent today. Please feel free to contact us again, or call 1-888-Best-Buy for any of your future needs. Have a wonderful weekend.

I would not expect this Best Buy employee to know more than anyone else in the world, but it just struck me as strange.  Anyone heard anything?

Well, I have even less faith in Best Buy now, because I ended up pre-ordering the mono box off their website, and with Express shipping, it now says:
Estimated Arrival: 8/25-8/26/2009,
so I really don't think they know what is going on.

I certainly do not know anything about them being pushed back. If that were so, and that happened, it would be the blunder of the century. There is so much anticipation, and the let down would be tremendous. I don't think Apple and EMI can afford a blunder like this right now. What little bit of credibility they have right now would go down the drain.

It could be business suicide for them.

Bobber, where did you get those pictures of the box sets?  I cannot wait any longer to get my grubby hands on these things and look at the artwork and listen to the magic...I mean music with fresh ears.

Thanks again Bobber.  These are going to be soooo much better than the '87 discs packages.  I love the artwork on the back.  It is supposed to be faithful to the original artwork, correct?

It looks like some of the artwork is different. Some looks close.

It looks like there are barcodes and anti-piracy notices. It looks like the early albums have the Apple logo on them as well. I like that they put the Long Play 33 1/3 R.P.M. on them, that is cool.

I hope the US (since that is where I am, and presuming that is the version I get), has the Parlophone logo. I also hope that Rubber Soul has the UK colors (or should I say colours).

Thanks Bobber for the pics. I should have seen that on the Hoffman board.

I need some advice. I am really broke, and, as such, can't purchase the remasters as soon as they come out. I am however going to ask for them for Christmas. Which should I ask for? The stereo or mono? I'd really like to hear the mono as it's the format for which they were originally intended, but my sound system is a cheapie and I fear that I wouldn't really get much out of it.

What do you think?

Another question...

Those who buy any of the box set. In what order you listen them?

Chronologically? Your favourites first? Random? Any other way?
