Years ago, I bought The Complete Beatles Songbook Volumes 1 and 2 which was a nice way to start.  Prior to that, I would just play the chords in the key the song was in.  The earlier songs were easy that way.

The first Beatles song I played on guitar was I'll Cry Instead:

                 G         C9          G     C9       G     C9   G   C9
I've got every reason on earth to be mad,
               G       C9       G     C9     D       Dsus   D
'Cause I just lost the only girl I had.
        C7
If I could get my way, I'd get myself locked up today
              G               D      G
     But I can't, so I'll cry instead.

                        Bm
Don't want to cry when there's people there
              A
I get shy when they start to stare,
              D                                    E7                    A7            D7
I'm gonna hide myself away, but I'll come back again some day.

Give it a try.  Sing like John.  You'll sound great!

Tomorrow Never Knows is just one chord.

Love Me Do is about their easiest I'd say!

I would love to hear Tomorrow Never Knows played acoustically - those backwards bits might be a bit tricky though! ;)

I used to sing Tomorrow Never Knows sometime. I made the strange sounds with my voice and thought it sounded really alike. ;D

Eight Days a Week and Twist and Shout are both easy. They are also easily recognized.

When I first learned to play Twist and Shout, for some strange reason I found it very difficult co-ordinating the chord changes to the singing!!

Well I might be playing it in a different key than the recording.

Yes, Eight Days A Week is pretty easy too.

Fade in:  D   E   G   D

D                        E                G                          D
Ooh, I need your love, babe,  guess you know it's true

D                          E                G                     D
Hope you need my love, babe,  just like I need you

Bm         G            Bm         E
Hold me, love me, hold me, love me.
   D                          E              G                  D
I ain't got nothin' but love babe, eight days a week.

Bridge:

A                          Bm
Eight days a week, I love you
E                         G                      A
Eight days a week is not enough to show I care

Fade out:   D   E   G   D

Thanks that seems to be working well :)

I'm working on playing Here Comes The Sun at the moment but on the tab when it tells me to play just an empty 4th string 4 times in a row, it just doesn't seem to sound right. Could I have a tab thats not right?
