How exciting!

And it just goes to prove my point again, that the Beatles' versatility in sound and style meant that they appealed to more folks than they might otherwise have done. For example, I highly enjoy Paperback Writer when I hear it, but the subject and lyrics are so odd, I'm not drawn to it as a song. But then the Beatles play "We Can Work it Out" and you have a whole different mood. So it keeps being a win-win. :)

Very true. The 3 songs tying for 1st place are all very different from each other. It's what makes it worthwhile and interesting doing this game.

Well, just a few weeks ago there was a conversation on here, and it was clear that there were some very strong views about the relative merits of the single, and the album versions. So I decided to have them both. They are quite different. I did ask opinion at the time!!

Just to let you know that Phase II of the Song Survivor Game starts tomorrow. There will be 4 groups of 12 songs each. We'll be starting a little later than usual as I have to work out what's going where etc.

I probably missed the discussion, sorry  :B

I just thought that equally both versions of Love Me Do should maybe have been included in the previous round as they are two entirely different performances. :)

And almost entirely the same!

I was not originally going to have LIB in there, but there was a discussion on here, and a lot of people were clearly very serious about one or the other.
