Post by: The End on July 16, 2004, 06:54:31 PM
I've dug out a few pics from the Ringo concert I went to at Shepherds Bush Empire a good few years back! Hope you like them ;D

The pictures were taken on Friday 21st August 1998 at the Shepherds Bush Empire. The line-up was as follows:

I think this was the 4th edition of the All Star Band:
Ringo Starr drums/vocals
Jack Bruce bass/vocals
Peter Frampton lead guitar/vocals
Gary Brooker keybords/vocals
Simon Kirke drums/vocals
Mark Rivera horns/vocals

way back when PH had out "Conquistador," I met the drummer BJ at the Bayshore Hotel in Vancouver when they were headlining the PNE (Pacific Northwest Exposition) concert. Nice nice guy...hated Brooker he said, as I remember, but the funny thing was that the opening of their concert was a guitarist, called (as I remember) Leo Kotke. He played hippie songs and mellow word tunes and as he started his second tune (BJ got me into the backstage area) he was booed and told to 'get the hell off the stage!!!" by the PH fans...

What a hoot! he did leave too, with his beautiful 12 string Gretsch (sic) and I enjoyed PH for the next couple of hours....cool cool memory!

So to see Brooker up above is cool...I think BJ was wrong, he sings and writes pretty good!

;-)
