Sinatra' Birthday Song for Maureen Starkey
« on: June 17, 2012, 09:23:54 PM »

For those who have never heard it (or didn't know about it), here is the link to download Frank Sinatra's "Maureen Is A Champ", by Ringo's request, with special lyrics by Peter Brown. Way cool!

Here's the song as posted on YouTube. The back story is that Maureen was a huge Sinatra fan. Ringo asked Sinatra, through Peter Brown, if he would sing a song for Maureen's birthday in 1968. With help from Peter Brown, these special lyrics were set to the tune of Sinatra's "The Lady Is A Tramp".

By the way, the original recording is locked up in the Apple vaults, and was pressed as a limited edition.
