Lady GaGa
« on: October 19, 2009, 09:26:57 PM »

What do you think of this artist? Randy and I have just agreed that she`s crazy! Whoever I ask say that they do not like her so much or not at all. Then where do all these fans come from? If she`s so popular?

I LOVE HER!!! Her music is extremely poppy, but it's good pop in my opinion. She may have wild taste in clothing (I'm even going as her for Halloween) but she is a talented songwriter and has a great voice.

She has two popular songs that they keep playing here (Just Dance and Poker Face).
My friend really likes her, she saw her live in America.

I dont know much about Lady Gaga, but these songs Just Dance and Poker Face I hear alot on the radio and they are quite good to dance to.

well she has my support ever since i saw her on the ellen degeneres show because
1) her performance was focused, theatrical, musical and entertaining
2) she played piano and i've learned she writes her own songs - a big plus - (and they are catchy and have humor to them)
3) she has a cool personality - very grateful for her success and not a dunce (also, she's been at this music thing her whole life and she paid dues)

and
4) . . . . . .
she's a born and bred new yorker.

in addition, she stood up for the gay and lesbian community's rights so ...why not! alot of these new artists only care about clothes/jewerly - at least she believes in something

Ok, I'll admit, I have a bit of a Gaga problem...  I just think she's amazing!  Her CD definitely was in high rotation in my car over the summer.  And it's not just her dancy music or her stage gimmics, she has the talent to back it up!  She's one hell of a piano player and her acoustic versions are awesome!

Actually just last week, she covered Imagine at the HRC dinner, the next day with Yoko sending her praise to Lady Gaga via twitter!  (Yoko's tweet: Dear @ladygaga Thank you for singing IMAGINE. Hearing that made me choke up. You are so beautiful! In Sisterhood and love, yoko)

I didn`t know she writes all her songs. That is really a plus, I agree with you. Then there`s something about her. And she has attracted everybody`s attention, not only by her looks but by her performances as well!

She doesn't just write her own material, she also wrote songs for Britney Spears, girl privatecat Dolls and Fergie.

But those songs all suck too.  ;)

She's written for Micheal Bolton as well. But I only like the stuff that she performs herself.

I don't think she's crazy. She's an entertainer. And if you're an entertainer you're basically a salesperson with one product to sell: yourself. This is just her way to make herself appealing and apparently it works. So good job for her.

I don't think she would have succeeded a couple of years ago. When the western world is in economic crisis, they choose to escape through entertainers. Lady GaGa is just the person to distract people from their troubles.

I quite admire her after I watched her speak at a rally for GLBT rights. She is a very sweet woman and seems to really care about her fans.

I don't see why not. The outrageous make-up and costumes and the over-the-top performances are nothing new at all.

It certainly isn't (see Cher or to a lesser extent Bowie) but it does have to come at the right time. That kind of thing is cyclical.

I agree with that. When the world is in crisis, all kinds of fantastic and otherworldly things attract attention. Like UFOs and visitors from other planets. People`s interest in them increases. Maybe GaGa is from another planet?
Well, she can`t be. I`ve seen her schoolday photos, she was just an ordinary girl!
