Soft_Guitar60:
Ringo Starr, superhero
(Wednesday January 26, 2005 04:35 PM)
Ringo Starr is to become a cartoon superhero.
The former Beatle has gone into partnership with Spider-Man creator Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment to create a new feature-length animation for DVD release.
Starr told Billboard.com: "[The action] will be set around a band. They'll be their own characters. It'll be a very strange All-Starr Band."
He said of Lee: "[He's] a great creator... he had this idea of a musical superhero - what I like to think of as a reluctant superhero."
"I'll zoom in to save the world or a damsel in distress or a small village. Who knows where he'll go?"
Lee added of Starr: "He's a great, great guy to work with... and he's imaginative, and we seem to be on the same wavelength."
Starr previously played himself on an episode of "The Simpsons" but was voiced by other actors for the Beatles cartoon series and the film "Yellow Submarine".
I love Ringo and I like Stan Lee's drawings...Great combination.
Mairi:
Awesome. See, Paul isn't the only one who can make a cartoon. ;)
Bruno:
should be a good one
Rowdy:
Stan Lee's involved, so it won't be as thin as some of Ringo's other film projects........I'll definitely be looking forward to this.
